Interval Hero ("we", "us") is a music-training web app operated by THE MUSIC GUY BUSINESS, based in Malaysia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It is written to align with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), as amended.

Who this policy is for

It covers everyone who uses Interval Hero: individual learners, teachers who run a studio roster, and the students a teacher or parent registers.

What we collect

Data	Why we hold it
Your name and username	To create your account and greet you in the app.
Your password (stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form)	To sign you in.
Your email — optional	Only if you add one, and used only to let you reset a lost password. We do not send marketing.
Your practice progress (scores, levels, activity dates)	To track your learning and, for students, to show your teacher your progress.
A display name — optional	Only if you choose to appear on a leaderboard.
Basic technical data (e.g. your IP address at sign-in)	To keep accounts secure, limit abuse, and show pricing in your local currency. Your IP is checked against an on-device country list — it is not sent to any third party for this.
Payment details, once paid plans launch	Handled by our payment processor — we never see or store your full card details.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us:

• Hosting & database — to run the app and store your account and progress.
• Email delivery — to send password-reset emails, if you request one.
• Error monitoring — to alert us to technical faults so we can fix them.
• Payment processing — to take subscription payments, once paid plans launch.

Some of these providers may process data outside Malaysia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data stays protected to a standard consistent with the PDPA.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it:

• While your account is active, we keep it so the app works for you.
• If you cancel, or after about 24 months of inactivity, we delete or anonymise your personal data.
• You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see Your rights).

Children

Interval Hero is used by children, and we take that seriously. Children do not create their own accounts: a student account is created by a responsible adult — their teacher or parent — who holds and manages it. A person registering their own individual account must confirm they are 16 or older. If you believe a child has registered an individual account without a parent's or teacher's involvement, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct it if it is wrong.
• Delete your account and personal data.
• Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
• Ask for a copy of your data in a portable form.

For a student account, a parent or the student's teacher can exercise these on the child's behalf. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Security

Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, connections are encrypted, and access to accounts is protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data and will notify affected users and the authorities of a serious data breach as required by law.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app grows. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll make a clearer notice in the app.
